Wammy Note Gets 25000+ Pre Orders Within A Week
Smartphone wars and tablet wars are passe! The fight now is between the ultra-portable yet feature rich segment of phablets (phone+tablet). Samsung, being the first to introduce this category brought the 13.46-cm (5.3-inch) Galaxy Note in the market. For its out of the box design size, the device invited some criticism by gadget analysts in the beginning. But, Samsung surely knows how to play the game well and has made the device a success in the market. Offering the benefits of a tablet and smartphone, the Galaxy Note is priced upwards of Rs 30,000 that is likely to compel the price sensitive buyer. Eyeing this oppurtunity, several brands have come forward with their ‘Notes’ in the recent times. One such device is the Wammy Note that EFYTimes will offer some revelations about.
Established in 2009, WickedLeak, an online consumer electronics store offers a host of electronics gadgets ranging from digital cameras, tablets, smartphones, video games, etc for sale. Alongside the shopping business, the company also produces a range of mobiles devices under the ‘Wammy’ branding. The recently unveiled Wammy Note featuring a 12.7-cm (5-inch) capacitive touch design size puts it into an eye to eye rivalry with Samsung’s Galaxy Note.

The company has provided Wi-Fi support in the device, which is an added benefit to the consumers. Music and videos- the Wammy Note is said to run a variety of formats including MPEG 4, MP3, DAT, MPG, MOV, etc and comprises support for FM radio and Bluetooth as well. But behind every successful device, consumer trust forms an indispensable part. Briefing about the company’s strategy and its after sales policy, Aditya said, “Our strategy is based on consumer delight which breeds loyalty and lifetime purchases. After sales is the best part with Wickedleak. If any issues are faced with the product, the consumer can e-mail the company, call the helpline number or get in touch with chat support on the website. After confirmation from us the customer can drop the device to closest DTDC or Bluedart outlet which will be sent to our headquarters in Mumbai and then after service delivered back to consumer. This falls perfectly with our strategy of vetical integration and enhancing overall consumer experience.”
According to a survey by the company, a customer incurs a total cost of Rs 150 (average) to get service on its products and spends approx 45 mins on average as comapared to spending Rs 700 (average) to get after sales from other companies, which includes cost of travelling and waiting at the service center where one ends up spending the whole day.
The Wammy Note has been competitively priced at Rs 11,000 which makes it quite an alluring offering in the market. As per the figures we got from the company, since its unveiling on 25 August, some 27,000 units of the device have been pre-ordered, out of which 11,000 have been shipped to the customers. But this does not seem to satisfy the company’s appetite as it plans to sell around a lakh Wammy Notes in the first six months of its launch.
Having talked a lot about the product, its specifications that share some similarities with the Galaxy Note, we are yet to find out how it fares in our functionality test and if it is actually ‘note’worthy to bank around Rs 10,000 on this. If you are still keen on buying the device, visit wickedleak.org for pre-orders. The company assures product delivery across the country within 4-5 working days.
