Motorola Atrix 2 Gets Android 4.0 Update
Motorola’s flagship Atrix 2, successor to the original Atrix smartphone, is getting its fair share of Android update. The device is joining the league of many other Motorola devices since the Google acquisition to get an update to Ice Cream Sandwich, known officially as Android version 4.0.
The OS update will be heading to the device soon via an over-the-air software push, according to a TGDaily report. However, those who can’t wait can just go into their phone menu to download the update manually, according to operator AT&T. Despite the fact that Motorola’s smartphone operations now fall under the Google umbrella, several top handsets from Motorola have been receiving delayed OS updates.
This delay can cause a major hitch to Motorola’s growth in the market as several competitors are now, going by the times, brewing up devices running the latest Android Jelly Bean OS.
But, Jelly Bean is in its nascent phase and as such Ice Cream Sandwich is one of the biggest updates to Android yet. It includes such features as scanning your face to unlock the phone, a much more robust speech-to-text software program, and an entire platform of data sharing that focuses on Near Field Communication (NFC).
