Microsoft Sued For ‘Cheating’ On Surface Tablet Storage

Previously, we reported that Microsoft’s latest 32 GB version of Windows RT Surface tablet has only 16 GB of actual storage space. Now, a California based lawyer named Andrew Sokolowski has sued Microsoft, claiming the Surface tablet he bought doesn’t have all the storage space the company advertised. Sokolowski was unhappy as his 32 GB Surface ran out of storage memory after putting few music and word documents. Microsoft hasn’t respond till now.

The Windows RT based Surface tablet has almost half the total internal memory as usable space. So, if you are buying the 32 GB version of the tablet, then you will end up with around 16 GB of usable memory, on the other hand, the 64 GB version of the tablet will offer only 46 GB of free disk space.

The Surface is priced starting at US $499 and will be available online in Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States. Microsoft has introduced Touch Covers with the Surface tablet. These covers are available in five colours — black, white, magenta, cyan, and red, and are priced at US $119.99. Users can also opt for an additional Type Cover in black for US $129.99. The Type Cover brings in a keys, so that you can convert it into a keypad of a traditional laptop.
