Twitter-like ‘Posts’ in Google Search results expand to musicians

Google Search is getting new highlights nearly every day generally. Subsequent to taking off ‘Multifaceted Featured Snippets’ and ‘Symptom Search‘ to its clients over the past few weeks, Google this week included ‘Street View virtual tours’ for 11 Disney theme parks from around the world. Google Search has changed significantly over the years, for better or in negative ways. A month ago, the search giant controversially removed the “View Image” button from Google’s Image Search following a lawsuit settlement between Google and Getty Images.

Other than the upcoming AMP Stories, the tech giant Google introduced Google Posts which is now available to well-known musicians. Google Posts is a characteristic which enables the people and businesses to make content directly on Google which appears highly ranked in Google search results for their names. At present Google announced that Google Posts are now accessible to musicians so fans can follow them the same way.

The name Google Posts which is not the official name of this service. Google has not given it one. We call it Google Posts in view of language Google itself utilizes on the Google Post home page. That page says “Posts by Google,” however just in the title tag, not in the page’s body copy. In January 2016, Google Posts were first launched. But at that time, it was used by US presidential candidates to reach out to more people through Google Search results. Google posts are also known as ‘search posts’.

Google Posts appear inside the Knowledge Panel which means that card that pops up when you search for popular persons. This Knowledge Panel includes text, links, images, videos, and GIFs. The Google notes artist using it to share updates, concert information, and other related social content. By tapping on one will expand the post as a popup and conceal the rest of results page behind.

This kind of characteristics will help to boost the company’s music efforts, with YouTube’s Global Head of Music Lyor Cohen saying that it’s “critical” for artists to be able to “manage how they show up on Google when fans are searching for details.”

In the meantime, these posts can be re-shared with suitable social media buttons for Facebook, Twitter, Google+, email and surely there is a direct link. Then opens up a full-screen interface and user profile for viewers.

This expansion of the new social feature includes popular artists such as Lorde, Steve Aoki, Sia, Son Little, Sofi Tukker, Shakira, and Kygo.

In the view of the company, this feature is live for “every musician who shows up on Google worldwide.” If you meet the criteria, you can sign up and be verified then start posting, that is Musicians can go to posts.google.com and get verified. Once you get verified, you can see a small blue Twitter-like check mark will appear near all future posts that you create.
