The week has started with Microsoft unveiling its latest Windows Phone 8 (WP8) mobile platform. This announcement has been followed by companies like Samsung, Nokia, HTC lining up their handsets, which is expected to be made available in the market over the next month.
First up, Nokia has officially confirmed the flagship WP8 device, Nokia Lumia 920 will be reaching the Indian shores this November. Unfortunately, for those wanting to know the price of the smartphone, they will have to wait for a while as the Finnish handset maker has not divulged its pricing strategy for the Indian market.
“During November, the Nokia Lumia 920 will reach Australia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Poland, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, the UK, the US and Vietnam,” read the company’s official blog.
Nokia has fallen off the top 4 of the leading mobile majors in the world and many are keeping their hopes on the Windows Phone 8 enabled Lumia devices, which will be expected to compete with Samsung’s Galaxy smartphones and Apple iPhone devices, who have established themselves as smartphone majors with consistent record sales quarter-by-quarter.
For those who are not familiar with the latest Lumia device, the Nokia Lumia 920 sports a large 11.4-cm (4.5-inch) display and is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor. The device has 1 GB RAM with on=board storage of 32 GB and 7 GB on cloud. The smartphone comes with an 8 MP rear camera and 1.2 MP shooter on the front.
