MTS Intros MTag 353 Android Smartphone @ Rs 5,999

MTS has taken the veil off its MTag 353 Android smartphone. MTS MTag 353 has a 8.8-cm (3.5-inch) display with capacitive touch and 320×480 resolution. It is powered by a 800 MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and a 1500 mAh battery.

MTS MTag 353 comes with a 3 MP rear camera and expandable memory up to 32 GB through a microSD card; It comes pre-bundled with a 2 GB card. Disappointingly, the phone runs on the outdated Android 2.3 aka Gingerbread OS. The phone is being targeted at the mobile and tech savvy youth of the country.

MTS MTag 353 comes with various bundled offers from MTS including 512 MB data per month for 2 months, 500 local + STD minutes per month for 3 months and 1 paise/2 seconds local + STD for 6 months. Also bundled is the MTS TV application that enables on-the-go access to more than 100 live TV and video-on-demand channels.

Android Gingerbread 2.3 is an outdated version OS, yet there are many smartphone makers adamant in offering the OS to consumers without any promises about upgradation to higher versions.

There seems to be no reason why users get inclined towards purchasing this product when there are better options available in the market in terms of price as well as specifications eg, the Smarty A25 Android smartphone from Micromax running on a 1 GHz processor and based on Android 2.3 aka Gingerbread, which comes at a price of Rs 3,999.

MTS MTag 353 is now available for Rs 5,999.
