HTC has started rolling out the first major update for its recently launched device, HTC One. While the update is not about offering the latest version of Android, the company has introduced several improvements.
Known as the HTC One 1.29.206.11 update, it has started reaching the unlocked models of the device in the UK as of now. The update brings along major improvement in HTC One’s Ultrapixel camera performance and the battery life. Obviously, the company has worked on a host of bug fixes and tweaks to the location service, HTC Zoe and Beats Audio.
The update is of substantial 229MB in size, which means that HTC has worked on it extensively. The new firmware is based on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, disappointing all those who expected Android 4.2.2 coming to HTC One.
A report from Gotta Be Mobile says that the camera firmware update has brought better white balance in the pictures. The update also makes colours in the pictures appear punchier. It means that the Ultrapixel camera has just got better.
TechRadar reports that the update also brings improvements to the battery life of the phone as well. The site said, “There were some serious concerns over the handset’s battery life meant it missed out on full marks. But not any more!”
