The Tech giant Google’s Android app Google Duo is enabling you to make stable video and voice call to loved ones. Google’s chat application Duo, highest quality one-to-one video calling app, launched a few years ago, but it’s struggled to overcome the advantage that apps such as Whatsapp and Hangouts had. Google unveiled the latest update on Duo which will functions on the device even if the app is not installed or users who haven’t registered with the service.
The users, who have the latest Android version on their smartphone can enjoy the features of Google Duo without downloading the app. This app offers group calls with better audio quality.
Google’s video mobile chat application was introduced at the company’s developer conference in May 2016 and release in the same year. This app is optimized for low bandwidth network and it enables end to end encryption by default. This application consequently switches between Wi-Fi and cellular networks. The “Knock-Knock feature allows users to see who is calling before answering the call. This also works with audio-only calls. This won’t work when making calls to iPhones. At the end of the conversation, users will be prompted to install the Google Duo app and also get notifications which will make them block a caller. Google hasn’t said anything formally in regards to the update, yet it keeps on pushing Duo and the text-based Google Allo as its messaging app, even with any semblance of Google Hangouts as yet dallying around out of sight.
The latest feature is made conceivable by a part in Google PlayServices called App Preview Messaging that appeared in 2016, which the organization previously used to permit clients of its Allo messaging service to text their contacts through the application, regardless of whether the recipients didn’t have it installed.
Justin Uberti, the lead engineer behind Google Duo, recently announced the “roadmap for 2018” which includes features like group calling and the welcome addition of Google Assistant.
Google Duo is “simple video calling” app for everyone and always a FaceTime/WhatsApp/Skype competitor.
