In a bid to promote and encourage use of fast connectivity 3G service in the country, India-based telecom giant Airtel has introduced its latest initiative to attract more and more users to move from 2G to 3G enabled services.
The operator has launched first-of-its-kind promotional offer for new postpaid customers, who will get unlimited 3G data usage for one month. The postpaid customers also include the ones who has moved to Airtel via mobile number portability and opted for postpaid schemes.
The unlimited data usage comes at free of cost without any fair usage policy. This scheme is valid in all 13 circles except Kerela and Tamil Nadu.
However, users will not be able to avail the free service after month, when it becomes chargeable as per the listed plans.
The plan is not available for company paid users and they need to have a 3G-ready device to make use of these offers.
Note: As per the plan, Airtel will offer a discount of Rs 1,000 on the first bill, which enables the customer to use 325 MB at 3G speed, post which the speed will be rationalized to 80kbps. Effectively, Customer does not pay for his internet usage for first 30 days
