FireChat a new mobile messaging application will allow Android-powered smartphone users to stay in touch with their near and dear ones even in the absence of cellular service or Internet connection.
It is not another WhatsApp clone. FireChat, earlier released for Apple’s iPhone offers an effective, secure and affordable ways to communicate and is based on a technology called wireless mesh networking. “We trying to create networks built by the people for the people,” Micha Benoliel, CEO of Open Garden was quoted as saying. FireChat hot on Apple’s App Store with its special feature that keeps you connected even when you don’t have WiFi or any mobile data connection. What is even more appealing is the “Nearby” feature that enables the user to connect on a person to person basis.
Chat-room is marked for “Everyone”, with a “Nearby” option. This is where this app makes a difference. Its an app which uses Apple’s “Multipeer Connectivity” network, allows person to person connectivity. You can share messages with other Apple users who have this app in their devices and are nearby. None of the devices are required to have a Wi-Fi or data connection.
