Facebook at Work – Facebook launches a version of Messenger for work !!!

Facebook has launched a new version of Messenger exclusively for work -Facebook at Work .This version of Facebook is designed for chatting with colleagues on a private social network. It allows coworkers to message each other individually, participate in group chats, share photos and videos, make voice calls, and even use stickers. The app, first spotted by TechCrunch, is an expansion of Facebook at Work, a business platform Facebook has been testing that allows co-workers to talk and collaborate.

Everything about Facebook at Work and its new Work Chat app looks almost identical to the Facebook and Messenger. Users can send a message to coworkers or create a group chat with more than one person. You can also see a directory of other employees and start conversations quickly and easily. When you’re on vacation, or don’t want to be disturbed with work issues, notifications can be turned off.The only real difference is that the network is limited to people within a single company.

Work Chat is only available on Android and only for people in companies using the limited Facebook at Work beta.  Facebook tells us the iOS version is in the works, and will arrive soon.

Employers can set up new accounts for their staff to use on the platform, and users can choose to link their personal and work accounts together. The service also allows for other business use cases, like document sharing, discussions, announcements, groups, project collaborations, events, and more.

The new service made its original debut with a soft launch back in January. It’s designed to compete against similar offerings like LinkedIn, Slack, and Yammer, and is based on Facebook’s own internal system that allows employees to communicate, plan, and share information. Even though Facebook at Work looks and feels like the social network, employees can select whether they want to keep their work account separate from a personal account, or if the two should be linked.
