This 20 GB can be shared among 5 users anywhere in India, the other 4 using the data for free. The telecom operators currently offer 1 GB of 3G data between Rs 160-250 which makes this offer more attractive.
This service is reported to be subsidised by the ‘Digital India’ scheme, aiming at pushing the reach of internet to segments who cannot afford steep internet rates. BSNL’s data pack and the impending Reliance Jio’s 4G launch is going to affect the market forcing the other players too to slash data rates.
