Android M Announced

Google announced Android M new version of Android operating system. It is just an announcement and the name resembles Android L which is later announced as Android Lollipop. The official name of Android M will be announced with the release of next Nexus release. Officials said that android M has fixed some bugs.

App permissions have improved in M. In Android M the apps will specifically ask for each specific permission like access to microphone, camera etc. Also the app links will automatically verified to be open in new window or in a browser where now it is by popping a prompt to select by user. A new efficient RAM manager is there in Android M. it will show the memory usage of recent apps and rate it accordingly. The new widget picker will scroll vertically where it was sideways in Android Lollipop.

There will be automatic backup at every 24 hours and data will be stored in user’s google drive. But it will not be considered as user’s personal usage of drive. Through this service the user can login to his drive and restore their app data. Also Android M will support  USB Type –C . Doze which is a new feature which will detect whether a device is idle by using motion detection and controls the background activities and thereby reduce the power consumption.

There will be new web experience, app drawer, finger print support etc… in Android M.

Google unveiled a new service Google Photos. It’s a free unlimited service by which you can store photos on cloud. The resolution of image to be stored is restricted to 16 MP and videos are restricted to 1080P. If you need to store a file bigger than this it will automatically converted to above resolution. Google photos stores your photos as compressed jpg files. Google photos provide editing facility. Anyway by the introduction of Google photos the users getting one more service like apple cloud, amazone etc… to store their images and videos .
