Acer lays claim to ‘fastest Chromebook’ title!!!

Acer announced yet another Chromebook, the Chromebook 14 for Work. The company’s first model compliant with Google’s Chrome for Work program, the Chromebook 14 for Work is said to be the fastest Chromebook on the market. It’s powered by a Core i processor, has 12 hours of battery life, and features a rugged design that includes a spill-resistant keyboard and military spec compliance.

The Chromebook 14 is also the first laptop available with Corning’s new Vibrant Gorilla Glass, which provides a durable glass finish that can be customized with various images. The device follows Acer’s consumer Chromebook 14, announced earlier this year, which has an aluminum chassis and slower Celeron processor.

Unlike Acer’s consumer Chromebooks, the Chromebook 14 for Work is chunky and clumsy, and has a lot of rough plastic. The Gorilla Glass lid also picks up fingerprints very easily, and will likely be more of a nuisance than anything else for those that are issued these by their employers.Acer didn’t say how much the Chromebook 14 for Work will cost nor when it will be available, but given that it’s targeted towards the enterprise market, it’s not likely that consumers will be able to purchase it.
