A lite version of an app is a need for the day. Amazon, one of the popular tech companies in the world has developed a new browser called ‘Internet’. It is a lite web browser with 2 MB in size and providing private browsing experience. Unlike other browsers, it does not demand additional permission or collect private data. It is amazing that it uses very little space on the phone storage.
Amazon new browser is called ‘lighter than the competition’. This app claims private browsing experience and compatible with the android device. It is apt on the device, runs on Android 5.0 Marshmallow and above. This app is accessible for download via Google Play. However, we weren’t able to download the app from the Play store on the devices which is running Android 7.0 and Android 8.1.
Though this app has certain similarities with other web browsers like Google Chrome, it has certain unique features. For example, the new app released by Amazon has a home page which has a section for trending news. Another feature is it’s ‘tab previews’, which has an option to move to private tabs which hide the browsing history from the device.
The application first appeared on the Play Store in March, and which has fewer than 1,000 downloads and not available in iOS version.
As other social media apps like Facebook Lite, Messenger Lite, Gmail Go, Google Go, Google Maps Go, and YouTube Go, Amazon had also introduced many lite version of the apps earlier like Amazon Kindle Lite App which is already available in India. This app aimed to provide e-book reading experience under 2MB of file size.
