New Yahoo Mail app features Caller ID and Photo Sync
Though yahoo is a distressed company with data breaches, outages and other issues, it is still making innovations for its 225 million active monthly users. It is a great pleasure for yahoo to introduce the file sharing service between mobile and desktop, and also able to sync your smartphone’s pictures to your PC while identifying calls through a brand new caller ID feature.
The caller ID feature that uses a very clever e-mail integration to show you the identity of callers .This Caller ID feature will extract information from your email contacts and it shows the user who’s calling, even if the number isn’t saved in the phone, or who have sent you their number in some e-mail.
In order to enable this feature on any iPhone running iOS 10 and above, just head over to Settings > Phone > Call Blocking & Identification, then toggle the switch for Yahoo Mail to the “on” position.
Another feature is photo uploading function that makes it easier to email images from your phone when you are logged in on the desktop. It is more interesting than caller id feature. This feature integrates “Tripod” within your Yahoo mail app. Tripod is a picture and video sharing platform that is from Flickr. Once users have enabled this feature, all recent camera roll photos will be made available on the desktop version of Yahoo Mail. With Yahoo’s image recognition technology, we can search photos in the sidebar with the keywords like “lakes” and it list out all the pictures of ”lakes”.
To enable this feature user’s need to open the Yahoo Mail app on iOS or Android, go to Settings, then, Photo upload and tap the “Upload photos” toggle.
Yahoo is rolling out both features are launching in the updated mobile app found in the iTunes App Store (iOS ver. 4.13) and Google Play (Android ver. 5.13). This app is very popular and its features are pretty good. Surely it will attract more and more users.
