Railway Stations To Have Free Wi-Fi Connectivity In India
If you are an Internet addict and if you commute via Indian railways often, here is some good news for you. A recent report has revealed that Indian Railways is planning to bring free Wi-Fi connectivity at the busiest railway station of the country.
The development will be kickstarted from New Delhi Railway Station which currently handles about 300 trains and approximately 5,00,000 passengers per day day. It will soon become India’s first Wi-Fi enabled station. Once the system becomes operational, the passengers across 16 platforms of the New Delhi Station will get access to Internet on their handheld devices.
Additionally, Indian railways is planning to replace the information kiosks with tablet computers to provide the information regarding the train positions, expected arrival time and other relevant data that passengers require.
Earlier the Indian Railways also introduced free Wi-Fi in the trains. A total of 50 trains will avail the facility starting from the New Delhi- Howrah Rajdhani Express.
