Champion Computers, an India-based computer peripheral company has forayed into the lucrative and cluttered budget tablet segment in the country. The company has introduced its first range of Android-based tablets under the brand, Wtab. This tablet comes with all the basic features with the addition of calling facility, which means it has a SIM-slot for 2G data services.
The tablet, Wtab 705 Talk comes with a 17.7-cm (7-inch) capacitive display and runs Android 4.0 aka Ice Cream Sandwich OS. The device is powered by a 1.5 GHz processor and 512 MB RAM. The tablet sports 2 MP rear camera and VGA front-facing shooter for video calls. The tablet supports SIM-calling, 2G, 3G via dongle, Wi-Fi, USB and HDMI. Champion has loaded the Wtab 705 Talk with a 3,500 mAh battery.
Champion Wtab 705 Talk tablet will compete with existing brands like Micromax FunTalk, Zync Z99 and recently launched HCL Me U1 calling tablet in the country. Wtab 705 Talk has been priced at Rs 6,929 and is available on the company website.
