Airtel increases Pan India Base Tariff to Rs 2 Per Min for Prepaid Customers
Tariff hike uses a new lead as Airtel has increased the base tariff to Rs 2 a minute. Airtel, India’s largest mobile operators is likely to extend this new tariff in all of the circles in 2 months.
It is almost sure that other biggies especially Vodafone and Idea will revise their tariff much like as Airtel’s moves. For past few months Airtel, Vodafone and Idea are hiking tariffs – whether base tariff, or special recharges or data packs or sms packs. Some think that this tariff hike will come in line of Govt’s upcoming ruling to provide free roaming.
Others like BSNL and MTNL will also be following these trend, yet not sure how it is helping BSNL. Some carriers like Reliance, Tata Docomo, Aircel, MTS, Uninor, Videocon hike the tariff marginally.
Now as this is just base tariff of Rs 2 each minute, you may still enjoy low price call rates like 30paisa each minute with special tariff vouchers. Operators are offering STVs because there is need for it. But I believe there’ll be hike on STV prices too.
